An excellent read, indeed!!  I'm thinking now about turning to the Glock 21... Twice the firepower of my 1991A1!!

Caught without close cover, engaged the perps and took the fight to them, returned fire and controlled his point of aim making every shot count, eliminated the threat and that is why he is here to tell the story!

I have some +4 baseplates for G21 mags. Gotta switch them around from mag to mag to find the combo that's reliable, but they allow me to have 17rds of .45ACP in a G21/G41.

The most important things the cop did was to quickly assess the situation and to keep a cool head.

Good read.

Good read.

And the fast decision to close with the enemy and eliminate the possible benefits of the rifles.

Well whether that was an actual thought at the time for the cop or not it was the right thing to do. I don't know what they call the move nowadays with all the clinical tacticool terminology that gets used but once upon a time that move was called an "Overbear". It's kind of considered an "If no other reasonable option" or "Ingrained reaction" move...the idea being to meet unreasonable or inexplicable aggression with equal or overwhelming counter aggression. In other words to steal the initiative in a situation. YOU become the bad guys worst nightmare and strip away the fantasy of Control that most terrorist/criminal types harbor deep down.

There is a whole psychology to this thing.
