Airsoft rifles.

Does anyone mess around with them?

My son had been going ham on them since he is a little older and has some income from Farmers Market, anyhow, he finally talked me into taking him to see about upgrading his G&G air soft AR we bought him some 5 years ago, he ended up buying a Glock pistol to go with it that uses green gas, basically propane with some sort of lubricant and none of the smell, he  L O V E's it!

He then coerced me into going back to ask about magazines for the Glock and AR, well, this time he came home with revolver...

Me being a sucker for fun, I picked up a full metal AK47 with a side folding stock, 4 magazines and two batteries, Other than the internals, I think this was once a real AK, it weighs around 8lbs, shoots in the 390-400 FPS.

My son wants to get into some games on the coming months, but we still need to get some safety gear.

I'll post up some pics in a bit, if I can figure out how, without using photobucket...

 Anyone else play?

Don't play, but I know some who do and they love it. I have hovered over the air soft guns more than a few times. Paintball is fun, too.

Last year for his birthday, I took my 30? year old nephew to the range for his first time.
He mentioned other than a paintball gun, anything he shot before had a joystick
He's hooked now after a 357 and a 45 :rotfl:

I don't play any airsoft but did buy an airsoft Glock several years ago that uses the red and green gas.

My thought was that I could set up a shooting range in my office and have fun while I was on the phone.

Big mistake.

I set up styrofoam cups along the top of the sofa, but it only took a couple of shots to discover that A.) It was loud as hell, and B.) The airsoft BB's hit so hard that they dimpled the drywall after zipping through the cups.

Oops!

I've always thought airsoft would be great for 'force on force' training.

I had a reenacting friend that was into MILSIM and asked me to run one of the sides in a big airsoft battle he put on...it was a Hoot. Not something I would be into on a regular basis because of some of these guys take themselves a bit too seriously but it was fun but as I told him I need another hobby like Custer needed more Indians at Little Big Horn.

Before I went to this MILSIM thing I bought a pistol that looked like a Ruger Mk II or browning .22 buckmark or something it shot at 425 ft per second and I was putting my gear together the night before going out and the cat (which I despised) was yowling at the entrance of my hallway (he liked the acoustics and he knew it annoyed me) so I took a good bead on his ass and shot him....*ahem* Well he shot up 3 feet into the air bounced off two walls and went under the dining room table and hit 3 or 4 legs with solid thumps trying to make his way down to the basement stairs...I would have shot him again but I was laughing too hard to get a solid aim. Then I looked and standing in the kitchen doorway was my woman....Neither her nor the cat were amused but I damn near had a seizure I was laughing so hard....LOL
