JBC and I had a conversation with a Columbus LEO that had the P320 for an issue arm. He hated it because it was DAO with a 10# pull.

He was saying a few in his group were having issues qualifying with the P320 because of the DA heavy trigger pull. Crazy.

That's the idea....make it harder for the police to shoot back...I'm surprised the mag isn't blocked for 3 rounds and welded to the grame....good thing it's polymer I guess.

But as for the P365...it looks promising....supposedly has a striker fired 5 pound trigger pull.  And it's actually smaller than the Shield while holding 4 more rounds...

I have a 320 and don't understand why anyone thinks it has a 10 Lb trigger. I'd guess the off the rack trigger is about 5.5? Maybe 6?

I'm looking forward to playing with the new Sig at SHOT this week.

That's the Sig between a 43 and a Shield.

Wow, those 12-round mags are $55.00! But I love that it comes with two mags out of the box.

This is gonna be tough on the very competitive CCP market! I love my little Kahr PM9 for carry, but it's only 6+1.  :(

Here's hoping it doesn't have the 320's drop safety.

Maybe the force asked for a heavier trigger for issue to popo? I dunno.

Did you get to play with the new Sig?

Are these on the market yet?   My first impression was: Wow, awesome! Over an ounce lighter than the Shield!
My second impression was: whoa, $600!

The M&P Shield is a fine little weapon, but the stainless steel they use isn't anything close to stainless steel as most of us think of it ... even with a coating, it rusts.  My other issue with it is that it will misfire if not held with a deathgrip.  I understand the physics of why limp wristing can cause a malfunction, but from what I've been told, other small guns aren't as picky about it as the Shield.  With my right hand inoperable for a while, I'd have to shoot left handed. I'm afraid with the Shield I'd only get a single shot.

Prices will come down eventually, it's the new must have at the moment.

There are many types of stainless steel. 300 series stainless is non-magnetic (better to say ever so slightly magnetic with an extremely strong magnet), but 400 series stainless is magnetic and it will corrode. If you have a stainless steel knife, put it to a magnet. You will find out that it is magnetic. 400 series stainless holds edges better and machines better than 300 series. This is because of the higher iron and carbon content. Many people believe that if their stainless gun or knife corrodes a bit then the mfr is using cheap stainless steel mainly because they don't understand the nature of different types of stainless steel. I know it is an oxymoron, but "stainless" does not mean stainless.

I am sure the price of the new Sig will be near about the level of the sp2022, which is mid to high $4 bills. But who knows, the striker fired side of the gun world will probably be willing to pay mid $5 hundy for this one.

I understand what you said, and am aware of stainless kitchen knives held by magnetic strips.
.
Is there a reason to use the 400 series stainless over traditional blued or parkerized steel?
.
One of the reasons I chose the Shield was because of the stainless steel. I'm lazy. I don't clean my guns as often as I should.
.
I realize I'm drifting the thread... But...  :neener:

Yes there are, several 1) Properly kept, the 400 series stainless will wear less than regular steel. 2) People will buy it because it is stainless. 3) The stainless is still more corrosive resistant and stronger than regular steel. 4) Resale value. 5) Stainless is heavier thus less felt recoil and easier follow up shots.

There are more and those are in no particular order.

If you want a real thread drift on this, we can discuss the quality of metals used depending upon country of manufacture of said metal.

Looks like the P365 is already being recalled. Sig really needs to fix their QC and stop rushing guns to market.

I played with the 365 at SHOT and was surprised how much I liked it.  Once they iron out the bugs it will be a neat little blaster. But they should have done a slim single stack. Maybe it's coming?

How do you mean?
They say it's the same width as the others... is the handle thicker?  How much?
