Bought my son a Ruger 10/22 Carbine
« on: February 11, 2018, 08:56:20 AM »

My son turns 8 tomorrow. I bought him a Ruger 10/22 Carbine with the lasermax.
I was going to get him a single shot bolt action but thought I wanted to teach him responsibility and to be honest, I wanted to use it and go plinking myself. Why do you think I bought the 25 rd magazine??
Happy birthday John and I hope we enjoy a lifetime love of firearms together. :clapping:

Great choice, and it's nice that you took the photo on your favorite blankie.

Those girls are hot!!
Leftover kids beach towel my wife was going to throw away. I figured I could use it on my table.
I'll be sure to have something more chic in my future postings. :rotfl:

hey if that mag don't work right, try the Ruger BX-25 mags. So far they seem to be as reliable as the old standard rotary 10 round factory mag. I'd be willing to bet the trigger pull is gawdawful on it. If you want a better trigger, the Ruger sold separately (SHOULD be what they come with standard) trigger is about the most inexpensive way to get a better trigger if you don't know how to rework the factory parts (and spring kit of course). If you want to bump it up several levels, Jard complete trigger housing assembly is available in different weights down to 1.5#. By that time you're getting into Kidd, Timney, Volquartsen, Clark, Power Custom, and others territory for a bit more than the Jard. I'd suggest choosing a scope (if you haven't already gotten 1) hat is decent quality, and if high enough magnification either adjustable objective, or even better with side focus. The side focus scopes are preferred because you can easily adjust them for focus/parallax while still shouldered or rested. If you want/need to customize it and need help feel free to pick my brain! I've had 1 or 2 10/22s in my time.
